UPPCS Sanskrit Syllabus - Important Topics, Books & More

For the aim of selecting Group A and Group B officers for the Administrative Civil Services of the UP state government, the UPPCS exam is administered by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). Candidates must be aware of the latest syllabus of the examination as authorities make changes consistently in the syllabus every year. UPPCS consists of three stages for the candidates i.e prelims, mains, and interviews. It’s mandatory for all the candidates to qualify for all the stages in order to get selected for the specific post.

  • The UPPCS Exam for Mains is expected to consist of 9 papers (Hindi, Essay, GS 1, GS 2, GS 3, GS 4, and Optional 1 and 2).
  • The UPPCS Mains syllabus also tests candidates' overall language and subject-specific understanding of concepts through its 9 papers
  • The total mark for the UPPCS Mains exam pattern is expected to be 1500. 
  • An essay or descriptive-type questions will be asked from the topics present in the UPPCS Mains syllabus. 
  • It is expected that candidates need to select only one among 29 optional subjects to appear for two papers.

UPPCS Sanskrit Marking Scheme

To achieve a higher score in the exam, students should be familiar with the UPPCS Sanskrit Marking Scheme. By doing so, they can acquire insight into the exam's details, such as the total allotted time, the paper's pattern, and the total no. of Questions, etc. You can check the below points for the marking scheme:-

Stage 1, i.e, the Prelims exam is an objective-based, multiple-choice question type exam.

  • This is subdivided into two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, for which the information is given in the paragraph mentioned above.
  • For paper 1, every correct answer will be given 1.33 marks. 
  • For paper 2, every correct answer will be given 2 marks.
  • For every wrong answer, 0.33 marks will be deducted.

UPPSC Sanskrit Exam Pattern

The Prelims Exam is mere qualifying in nature. For the main exam, all the papers are important and conducted in descriptive mode. Total of 8 eight papers out of two are optional. Check the exam pattern below:-

  • There will be two optional papers- Chemistry. 
    • Paper 1 – Sanskrit Paper
    • Paper 2- Sanskrit Paper
  • Both of these optional papers will be of the maximum marks of 200 marks each with a duration of 3 hours each and subjective in nature.
