श्रृंखला नियम बताता है कि यदि आपके पास f(g(x)) जैसे फलनों की संरचना है, तो अवकलज f′(g(x)) × g′(x) होगा।

गणना:

⇒ f(u) = cos(u)

⇒ f'(u) = -sin(u) (cos(u) का अवकलज)

⇒ g(x) = sin(x)

⇒ g'(x) = cos(x) (sin(x) का अवकलज)

\(\dfrac{d}{dx}\)[cos(sin(x))] = f'(g(x)) × g'(x)

\(\dfrac{d}{dx}\)[cos(sin(x))] = -sin(sin(x)) × cos(x)

∴ x के सापेक्ष cos(sin(x)) का अवकलज −cos x ⋅ sin (sin x) है।
