At what temperature Fahrenheit and Celsius are equal?

The formula to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit is given by:

\(F = \frac{9}{5}C +32\)

where F is Fahrenheit scale and C is Celsius Scale

CALCULATION:

To make both the temperature equal let consider F and C  as x:

\(x = \frac{9}{5}\times x +32 = x-\frac{9}{5} x= 32 \) on solving we get

\(0.444x = -17.778 , x = -40^0 C\)

• Hence, the temperatures of Fahrenheit and Celsius are equal at -40° C
