Shrimati Prerana Shrimali, who was born in Banswara, Rajasthan, was trained in Kathak dancing by Guru Shri Kundan lal Gangani in Jaipur. Subsequently, she received instruction in the art from the same Guru, late Shri Kundan Lal Gangani of the Jaipur gharana, at Kathak Kendra in New Delhi.
She has also taken part in numerous international dance seminars and conferences and created a number of performances.
