If the solutions are mixed with each other, then how many litres of water has to be added in the final solution to make the resulting solution in the ratio 1:1?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
1st vessel: Milk and water ratio in 37 liters is 17 : 18
2nd vessel: Milk and water ratio in 47 liters vessel is 28 : 19
Calculations:
Let's take Milk as M and water as W
Amount of Milk and water in 1st vessel = 17 liters: 18 liters
Amount of Milk and water in 2nd vessel = 28 liters: 19 liters
The total amount of Milk and water after mix = (17 + 28) liters:(18 + 19) liters
The total amount of Milk and water after mix = 45 liters: 37 liters
To make the Milk and water ratio 1 : 1 then we need to add 8 liters of water.
The total amount of Milk and water at final = 45 liters: 45 liters = 1 : 1
∴ The correct answer is option 2.
