In revised CBR method for the design of flexible pavement IRC has provided charts for different CBR in which relation between pavement thickness and cumulative traffic axle is given.
CBR Value of Soil: This measures the strength of the subgrade soil and is a critical factor in determining the pavement thickness.
Cumulative Standard Axle Load: This considers the traffic load, specifically the cumulative number of standard axles (usually 8.2 tonnes) that the pavement is expected to carry over its design life.
In this method, the chart contains several curves (A, B, C, D, E, F, and G) which represent the different levels of traffic intensities. Based on this we can find out the layers thicknesses.
