The slip of an induction motor is given by:

\(s={N_s-N_r\over N_s}\)

where, s = Slip 

Ns = Synchronous speed

Nr = Motor speed

Calculation

 

Given, Ns = 1000 rpm & Nr = 970 rpm

\(s={1000-970\over 1000}=0.03\)
