Given:

An item costs ₹15,000. A customer can choose either 30% discount or the buy two get one free offer.

Formula used:

Discount price = Original price - (Discount % × Original price)

Buy two get one free offer price per item = (Total price for 3 items) / 3

Calculations:

For Jeevan:

Discount = 30%

Original price = ₹15,000

⇒ Discounted price = ₹15,000 - (30% × ₹15,000)

⇒ Discounted price = ₹15,000 - (0.30 × ₹15,000)

⇒ Discounted price = ₹15,000 - ₹4,500

⇒ Discounted price = ₹10,500

For Rakshit:

Buy two get one free offer:

Original price per item = ₹15,000

Total price for 3 items = 2 × ₹15,000

⇒ Total price for 3 items = ₹30,000

⇒ Price per item = ₹30,000 / 3

⇒ Price per item = ₹10,000

Difference in their payment:

⇒ Difference = ₹10,500 - ₹10,000

⇒ Difference = ₹500

∴ The correct answer is option 1.
