Given:

Invested amount of Abi = Rs. 32000

Invested amount of Boobalan = Rs. 48000

Ratio of profit for both = 1: 1

Formula used:

The ratio of invested amount = Ratio of profit

Calculation:

Let Boobalan's investment period = x months

According to the formula

32000 × 12 : 48000 × x = 1

⇒ 48000 × x = 32000 × 12

⇒ x = (32000 × 12)/48000

⇒ x = 8

The Boobalan joined after Abi = 12 - 8 = 4

∴ The correct answer is 4 months.
