Question
Download Solution PDFAbi started a business with Rs. 32,000 and is joined afterwards by Boobalan with Rs. 48,000. After how many months did Boobalan join if the profits at the end of the year are divided equally?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Invested amount of Abi = Rs. 32000
Invested amount of Boobalan = Rs. 48000
Ratio of profit for both = 1: 1
Formula used:
The ratio of invested amount = Ratio of profit
Calculation:
Let Boobalan's investment period = x months
According to the formula
32000 × 12 : 48000 × x = 1
⇒ 48000 × x = 32000 × 12
⇒ x = (32000 × 12)/48000
⇒ x = 8
The Boobalan joined after Abi = 12 - 8 = 4
∴ The correct answer is 4 months.
