Question
Download Solution PDFA shopkeeper gives a 12% additional discount on the discounted price, after giving an initial discount of 25% on the labelled price of a radio. If the final selling price of the radio is ₹792, then what is its labelled price (in ₹)?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDF1st Discount = 25% of M.P
2nd Discount = 12% of 1st Discount
S.P = Rs. 792
Formula used:-
Discount = Marked Price – Selling Price. And
Discount Percentage = (Discount/Marked price) x 100.
Calculation:-
Let the marked price be x.
According to the question,
x × (88/100) × (75/100) = 792
⇒ x = (792 × 100 × 100)/(75 × 88)
⇒ x = 1200
∴ The required answer is 1200.
