Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFLet the total salary be S.
Amount spent on rent =20% of S.
Remaining salary after rent = 80% of S.
Amount spent on Food = 30% of the remaining salary.
Amount spent on Transport = 25% of the remaining salary.
Amount spent on Entertainment = Remaining percentage of the remaining salary.
Total percentage spent on Food and Transport = 30% + 25% = 55%
Percentage spent on Entertainment = 100% - 55% = 45%.
Entertainment = 45%of the remaining salary.
Given that Entertainment = ₹16,560:
45% of 80% of S = 16,560
0.45 × 0.8 × S = 16,560
0.36 × S = 16,560
S = 16,560 / 0.36
S = 46,000
Thus, the total salary of the person is ₹46,000.
