The National Testing Agency (NTA) aanounced the JEE Main 2025 results for Paper-2 (B.Arch. / B.Planning) on May 23, 2025. Students who appeared for the exam can now view their results on the official NTA website. This paper is especially important for those aiming to study architechture or planning at top institutions like NITs, SPAs, and other government-funded colleges. It is different from the B.Tech paper, which is used for engineering admissions. The Session 2 exams were held between April 2 and April 9, 2025, in two shifts per day. JEE Main Result 2025 Out

The JEE Main 2025 Results for Paper-2 (B.Arch./ B.Planning) was released on May 23, 2025. Alongside the result announcement, the NTA also released detailed statistics, including gender and category-wise data on registered and appeared candidates. Out of the total, 7,26,205 female and 3,35,635 male candidates had registered, with 6,61,871 females and 3,10,479 males appearing for the exam.

The result notice also included the list of 24 top-performing candidates who scored 100 percentile, hailing from states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. The official scorecard is essential for counseling and admission to IITs, NITs, and other engineering colleges, and can be accessed through the candidate login portal.

How to Convert JEE Main 2025 Marks into Percentile?

The National Testing Agency employs normalization to make the results of JEE Main 2025 fair and non-discriminatory. Normalization takes into account the difference in difficulty level between various sessions. The percentile score is computed for each candidate, which reflects how that candidate has performed compared to all other candidates.

Formula to Calculate JEE Main Score

NTA follows the normalisation process to calculate the percentile and rank of the JEE Main candidates. The process for the same is described below:

JEE Main Result 2025 Tie-Breaking Rule

If two or more candidates score the same percentile in the JEE Main 2025 exam, the National Testing Agency uses a tie-breaking process to decide their ranks. The tie-breaking criteria are as follows:

For Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech):

• Higher Marks in Mathematics: If two or more candidates have the same percentile, their marks in Mathematics will be used to break the tie.
• Higher Marks in Physics: If the tie remains after considering Mathematics, the candidate with higher marks in Physics will be ranked higher.
• Higher Marks in Chemistry: If the tie still exists, the candidate with higher marks in Chemistry will be given preference.
• Age Factor: Older candidate will hold a higher position if the tie persists

For Paper 2A (B.Arch)

• Higher Mathematics score: The Marks in Mathematics score will be counted first if both the candidates receive equal marks.
• Higher Aptitude Test score: If a tie is there and still doesn't resolve after this, the aptitude section's higher score holds priority.
• Drawings Test Marks Score: If remaining tied, the applicant's drawing test performance marks will be assessed.
• Age Difference: In such a scenario, the older student will be preferred if the score is still pending.

For Paper 2B (B.Plan)

• Higher Mathematics Marks: Mathematic marks will remain the first resolution method if the candidate's scoring percentile remains the same in Paper 2B.
• Higher Marks in Aptitude Test: If the tie remains the same, then marks will be used as per the aptitude test in favor of that candidate.
• Marks for Planning-based questions: If that is a tiebreaker, marks will be taken according to the planning-based questions section.
• Older Candidate: If other criteria are still the same, the older the candidate, the higher the candidate's rank is.

What After JEE Main Result 2025?

After the JEE Main Result 2025 is declared, the following steps are generally taken:

• Check Results: The scorecard with marks, percentile, rank, etc., will be available on the official website.
• JEE Advanced (Paper 1 qualifiers): The top 2.5 lakh candidates qualify for JEE Advanced, which is mandatory for seeking admission in IITs.
• JoSAA Counseling: Candidates register for JoSAA counseling to participate in the allotment procedure of seats for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
• NITs, IIITs, GFTI Admission: These candidates can get admission based on their rank in JEE Main through JoSAA counseling.
• B.Arch Admissions (Paper 2A): Students appearing for Paper 2A can seek admission in B.Arch through JoSAA or NATA scores.
• B.Planning Admissions (Paper 2B): Students appearing for Paper 2B can seek admission in B.Planning through JoSAA counseling.
• State-Level Counseling: Some states also have state-level counseling for colleges that take admissions through JEE Main scores.
• Document Verification: Verify your documents at the reporting center after seat allocation.
• Fee Payment with Confirmation of Admissions: This will be done within stipulated periods at the allotted colleges to confirm participation and pay applicable fees.
• Starting College: Collect necessary logistics at institutes such as hostels to join college.
