Profit is divided in the ratio of capital × time.

Calculation:

Let: P's investment = ₹4500 for 12 months

Q's investment = ₹5400 for x months

⇒ (4500 × 12) / (5400 × x) = 2 / 1

⇒ 54000 / (5400x) = 2 / 1

⇒ 54000 = 10800x

⇒ x = 54000 / 10800 = 5

Q joined after 7 months (since Q worked only for 5 months out of 12).
