Calculation:
In the figure, AB = 18 feet, CD = 6 feet and AC = 10 feet
Let, shadow of the tree, CO = k feet
According to the question,
ΔABO and ΔCDO are two similar triangle
⇒ AB/AO = CD/CO
⇒ 18/(10 + k) = 6/k
⇒ 18k = 60 + 6k
⇒ 12k = 60
⇒ k = 5
∴ Length of the shadow of the tree = 5 feet
