SSC MTS Eligibility 2025, Check Age Limit and Qualification for MTS/Havaldar

SSC MTS Eligibility 2025 has been specified in the official notification for the MTS/Havaldar Recruitment 2025. To apply for SSC MTS 2025, candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10th) or its equivalent from a recognized board. The minimum age limit is 18 years, while the maximum age limit is 25 or 27 years, depending on the post. Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories as per government norms. Indian citizenship is mandatory for all applicants. There is no limit on the number of attempts as long as the age criteria are met. SSC MTS Eligibility 2025

The SSC MTS eligibility includes age limit, nationality, and educational qualification. or the role of Multi-tasking Officer (MTS), candidates must be between 18 and 25 years old. For the position of Havaldar, the upper age limit is extended to 27 years. The mandatory educational qualification for both positions is a minimum of 10th pass or its equivalent from any recognized board. These criteria ensure that eligible candidates can apply based on their age and educational background for the respective roles within the SSC MTS recruitment framework.

SSC MTS Age limit (As on 01st August 2025)

The age limit for SSC MTS positions varies depending on the specific department. Candidates should be 18 to 25 years  (Born between 02.08.2000 and 01.08.2007) for MTS posts and 18 to 27 years  (Born between 02.08.1998 and 01.08.2007) for Havaldar in CBIC & CBN and some MTS posts. 

SSC MTS Age Relaxation

Candidates must provide a valid document to avail the age relaxation, and age relaxation varies according to the caste and other physical challenges. With age relaxation maximum age can go up to 45 years. It is important to remember that the age relaxation is only applicable to the upper age limit and not to the lower age limit. This means that the lower age limit of 18 years remains the same for all candidates regardless of their category. The details of age relaxation is provided below:

  • It is necessary to remember that if he/she has a minimum of 40 percent disability in case of being physically handicapped, the applicant must get the advantage of reservation.
  • A concession to an employee of the Central Government would be given either in the PH category or in the employee category of the central government.

SSC MTS Educational Qualification

To be eligible for the SSC MTS Exam 2025, candidates must meet the minimum educational qualification requirement. Specifically, they must have completed matriculation or an equivalent examination degree from a recognized board. This ensures that all applicants have attained a basic level of education, which is essential for performing the duties associated with the Multi-Tasking Staff positions.

SSC MTS Nationality

Candidates appearing for the SSC MTS Exam 2025 must primarily be citizens of India. However, certain other categories of individuals are also eligible under specific conditions:

  • Must be a subject of Nepal, or
  • Must be a subject of Bhutan, or
  • A refugee from Tibet who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling permanently in India, or
  • A person of Indian descent who, with the intention of permanently settling in India, has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

Note: The candidate must be able to provide the certificate issued by the Government of India.

SSC MTS Physical Eligibility Criteria 2025

Apart from fulfilling the SSC MTS eligibility requirements mentioned above, candidates must also fulfill the physical eligibility criteria specified in the official notification. The Physical Eligibility will be evaluated in two parts - Physical Standards Test and Physical Efficiency Test. Below are the details of the PET and PST through which the physical eligibility for SSC MTS and Havaldar posts will be done -

The SSC MTS Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is a crucial assessment of a candidate's physical fitness, specifically for those applying for the Havaldar position. It includes tasks such as walking and running to ensure candidates can handle the physical demands of the job.
