1. Tier I – Preliminary Examination
This is an online objective-type test comprising four sections: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
It is qualifying in nature and used to shortlist candidates for the next tier.
The exam is conducted for a total of 200 marks with a time limit of 60 minutes.
Marks scored here may be used for merit in some posts.
2. Tier II – Main Examination
Tier II is also a computer-based test with multiple papers, depending on the post applied for. The Paper-I (compulsory for all) includes questions from Quantitative Abilities, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness.
Paper II (for JSO) and Paper III (for SI Grade-II) test statistical and economic knowledge respectively. The marks of Tier II are crucial for final selection.
