The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a premier institute of fashion colleges in India. NIFT College entrance exams are conducted for admission into various UG and PG programmes, such as B.Des, and B.F.Tech, M.Des, M.F.M, and M.F.Tech. Admission into NIFT colleges in India depends upon the performance in the entrance exams. Candidates must pass each round to be eligible. There are 17 participating institutes of NIFT. Applicants who meet the qualifications and meet the cut-off are eligible to apply.

• There are 17 branches of NIFT colleges in India, providing UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses.
• Each participating NIFT college will have its own cut-off. It is important for candidates to clear the NIFT exam cut off marks to ensure a thorough admission process.

NIFT College List: State Wise

As a leading fashion Institute NIFT has opened its center in different parts of India. Its first New Delhi campus was opened in collaboration with the FIT, New york. This was the year 1986, now 2023, and 16 states and 16 NIFT campuses. 

Recently in 2021, a campus at SriNagar was opened, where they are teaching only UG courses, and in 2017, Panchkula, Haryana campus was opened. There is a list below of all NIFT colleges in India with their foundation year. 

NIFT Delhi

Established in 1986, the first institute of fashion designing in India located in Hauz Khas area in New Delhi. NIFT Delhi provides UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses i.e six UGs, three PGs, and one bachelor course.

NIFT Mumbai

NIFT Mumbai started in 1995, located in Navi Mumbai. This campus has 6 UG courses and 2 PG courses.

NIFT Bangalore

Established in 1986, located in Bangalore, Karnataka. NIFT Bangalore also provides 6 UG Courses, 2 PG courses. 

NIFT Chennai

NIFT Chennai has 6 UG and 2 PG courses with Diploma courses also available in campus. the center has set up a remarkable and ideal platform for the aspiring and creative young generation in the field of Fashion with Design, Technology and Management 

It also provides Master’s degree in Fashion Management (M.F.M) and Masters in Fashion Technology (M.FTech). 

NIFT Patna

Established in June 2008, NIFT Patna initially began in a campus of Udyog Bhavan, Patna and After July 2014 it shifted into their permanent campus at Mithapur Farms, Patna.

NIFT, Gandhinagar

Established in 1995, in sector 26 of Gandhinagar, after February 2004 it shifted into a new campus near Infocity. An additional 10,000 sq. mt. land was allotted for the Girls’ Hostel, Director’s Bungalow, and Staff Quarters.

NIFT Bhopal

Founded in June 2008, from its Transit Campus situated in MP Bhoj (Open) University, in the heart of Bhopal city.

NIFT Hyderabad

Between India’s IT hub - Hi-tech city, NIFT Hyderabad fulfilling one of its core mottos, tradition meets modernity. The permanent campus was established in 1999.

NIFT Kannur

Functioning from a temporary campus in 2008 and shifted into its permanent campus in 2012. The infrastructure was given by the State Government of Kerala. This allows a reservation of 20% supernumerary seats for the students of the state domicile.

NIFT Kolkata

Founded in 1995, it is one of the five oldest centres among the NIFT Nodes. This campus is providing education in the field of Design, Technology, and Management, in the Eastern Part of India.

NIFT Panchkula

Started at Panchkula in 2019. At present, this is running into a temporary campus providing three regular courses in sessions 2020-21.

NIFT Raebareli

Started in 2007, NIFT Raebareli is located in Uttar Pradesh. Its main academic and administrative blocks are situated in multi-storied buildings having adequate classrooms, studios, laboratories, and a resource center which includes a library.

NIFT Shilong

Established in the year 2008, NIFT Shilong is located in Shillong, Meghalaya. It is the first premier fashion institute in North East India.

NIFT Kangra

Started in 2009, NIFT Kangra is situated in Kangra city of Himachal Pradesh following the vision of NIFT. This campus has given more than 300 students with high merits and successful placements.

NIFT Jodhpur

Started in 2010, NIFT Jodhpur is situated in Jodhpur city in Rajasthan. This campus provides 4 Bachelor's and 2 Master's programmes in the area of Design, Technology, and Management. 

NIFT Bhubaneshwar

Established in 2010, Nift Bhubaneshwar is situated in Bhubaneshwar city of Odisha. It is also shifted into a new campus near KIIT. It has also like the Kannur campus promised a 20% reservation of seats for the domicile of Odisha.

NIFT SriNagar

What Before & After the NIFT Entrance Examination?

There must be some procedures that candidates keep in mind that do not get stressful and keep a proper sleep a night before the exam day. Candidates must reach the exam centre on time and check the documents properly that are required at the time of entrance i.e admit card and photo id proof like Aadhar card.

After the entrance exam, candidates must match their answers from the officially released answer key and wait for the real cut-off list to come out. 

NIFT College List: Required Documents for Counselling

The candidates appearing for counseling will require the following documents:

• 12th class/degree (marks Sheet and Certificate). 
• In case the candidate has appeared for the qualifying exam/compartment (of final year/semester) and the result is due, the date sheet /admit card for examination has to be brought.
• Proof of date of birth (Secondary School Mark Sheet & Certificate) (Original and Photocopy).
• SC/ST/OBC - Non-Creamy/PWD (supported with requisite Certificate). 
• Certificate of Medical Fitness to be signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format in original.
• Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- for seeking provisional admission only in case, the result of qualifying examination is yet to be declared (in the format at Annexure-I).
• An undertaking regarding Anti-Ragging (Annexure-II)
• An undertaking regarding refund of fee (Annexure-IV)
• Artisan Photo identity card of Self/Parent (Father/Mother) issued by Development Commissioner (Handicraft), or Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles or State Government. 

Note: -

• Original Documents will be verified at the Campus when the candidate reports for the allotted regular programme. 
• All the above said documents should be self-attested. 
• In case any of the above document(s) is/are in any language other than Hindi/ English, then a certified translation in English/Hindi should be produced duly verified by the issuing institution/ gazetted officer / Self attested (original and photocopy) by the candidate at the time of Counselling /Admission. Failure on the part of the candidate to produce the requisite authentic translation may result in refusal of admission.
