Candidates' performance is evaluated based on their raw marks, which are then normalized to account for variations in difficulty across multiple sessions. This normalized score is used to determine the All India Rank (AIR), reflecting a candidate's relative performance among all test-takers.

GATE Rank Predictor – What is a Good GATE Rank 2025?

All GATE aspirants must be aware of what is considered a good rank and what ranks can get them into their dream institute. Once the GATE Result is out, aspirants should be aware of their scores and estimated GATE Rank. For most of the GATE branches, candidates with a rank under 200 will get a call from PSUs while a rank under 1,000 will have a good chance of getting their preferred branch in any IITs or NITs.

It should be kept in mind that a good GATE Score won’t guarantee a job at PSU or admission to the IITs. Most of the PSUs and IITs will conduct interviews and GD rounds before they finalise any candidate. All candidates should be well prepared for the GD and PI rounds to avoid getting disappointed even after getting a good rank.
