The Border Roads Organization Eligibility Criteria must be fulfilled by all the aspirants planning to apply for the Driver Recruitment. The BRO Driver which is soon to be conducted, is open to candidates up to the age of 27 years and who have completed the Matriculation from a recognized Board. It is essential to fulfill all the eligibility requirements as mentioned in the official notification to be shortlisted for the Driver post.

In order to be eligible for the BRO Driver post, candidates must hold Matriculation Degree along with a driving license.
Only candidates up to the age of 27 years will be eligible to apply for the post.

Detailed Border Roads Organization Driver Eligibility 2025

Candidates must meet the BRO Driver eligibility criteria in order to appear for the exam. BRO Driver Age Limit

As per the official notification, candidates applying for the Driver post should be not more than 27 years of age as on 01.09.2024 to be considered eligible for the post.

Border Roads Organization Driver Age Relaxations

Candidates from Reserved categories will also be eligible to avail age relaxations as per their category. The following are the age relaxations available in the upper age limit –

(e)	Ex-Servicemen	Ex-Servicemen who have put in NOT less than six months of continuous service in the Armed Forces shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from their actual age plus 3 years in addition to age relaxation admissible to OBC/SC/ST category.
(f)	Persons with Benchmark Disabilities	10 years
(g)	Jammu & Kashmir Migrant	5 years

BRO Driver Educational Qualification

Candidates who are applying for the Border Roads Organization exam must have the following qualifications –

Driver Mechanical Transport (Ordinary Grade)

i) Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent.

and

ii) Possessing a heavy Motor vehicle driving license.

Having passed Class III Course for Driver Plant Mechanical Transport as laid down in Defence Service Regulations (Qualification Regulations for Soldiers) from office of Records or Centres or similar establishment of Defence.

Driver Road Roller Ordinary Grade

i) Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent.

ii) Possessing a heavy Motor vehicle or Road Roller driving license with experience of six months in Road Roller Driving.

Having passed Class II Course for Driver Plant and Mechanical Transport as laid down in Defence Service Regulations (Qualification Regulations for Soldiers) from office of Records or Centres or similar establishment of Defence.

Border Roads Organization Driver Nationality

Only Indian citizens are eligible for the post of BRO Driver.

BRO Driver Eligibility – Number of Attempts

There is no official mention on the number of attempts for the BRO Driver exam. Candidates can apply till their upper age limit is reached.

BRO Driver Eligibility – Special Requirements

Candidates applying for the BRO Driver position must possess a valid heavy motor vehicle (HMV) driving license. Additionally, experience in operating relevant vehicles may be required.

In case, it is detected at any stage of recruitment that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information or has suppressed material facts, his/her candidature will stand automatically canceled.
Before joining the services of the Corporation, the selected candidates will have to be medically fit for which they are required to undergo the necessary Medical Examination, at their own cost.
The candidates will be subject to document verification of antecedents, documents, and declarations to verify their eligibility for the post.
