BRO Driver Application Fee 2024
The BRO Driver application fee varies category-wise. For General, EWS, ESM and OBC candidates the fee is INR 50. SC/ST/PWD candidates are exempted from fee payment.
BRO Driver Eligibility Criteria 2024
Candidates applying for the post of BRO Driver must ensure that they fulfil the specified eligibility in terms of age, qualifications, experience, etc., to avoid disqualification of their applications. The detailed BRO Driver Eligibility Criteria are mentioned below.
- The candidates must have passed Matriculation from a recognized board or institution.
- The age of the applicants must be between 18 to 27 years.
- The candidates must have a valid heavy vehicles driving license.
BRO Driver Selection Process 2024
The selection of candidates for the BRO Driver post will be based on a Written Examination followed by PET, PST, Driving Test, Medical examination and Document Verification. Details of the same are:
Written Examination
The written examination is conducted to assess the candidate’s knowledge of General Knowledge, and post-specific subjects. Those who qualify this test will only be considered for further selection.
Physical Test
The BRO Driver Physical Test is only qualifying in nature. It includes the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standards Test.(PST) As part of the PET, candidates need to qualify the 1.6 km (1 Mile) run in 10 minutes. As part of the PST the candidates will be assessed for parameters like height, weight, and chest measurements. These physical standards vary as per the region the applicant belongs to.
Driving Test
The driving test will be conducted to assess the candidate’s proficiency in driving. For Driver Mechanical Transport it includes tasks like Maneuvering of slope without slipping, Driving of vehicle on a driving track (8') and Reverse parking. For Driver (Road Roller), the driving test involves the forward & reverse march of the road roller with only 10 cm of clearance on both sides.
Document Verification
At this stage, the original documents of the candidate will be verified by the authorities to ensure the eligibility of the candidate for this post.
Medical Examination
Before the final appointment candidates need to undergo a medical examination to ensure their physical and mental fitness for this post.
