AWES Army Public Selection Process 2025 – Stages
The AWES Army Public School recruitment is started and candidates must know the selection process. The AWES Army Public Selection Process consists of 3 stages which are as follows:
Screening Exam
The first stage of the AWES Army Public School selection process is the Screening Exam. There are two parts for the PGT and TGT Screening exam, while there is only one part for PRT. Part-A is common for all the posts.

AWES Army Public Selection Process – Screening Exam
Army Public Schools will have a centrally administered computer-based Online Screening Test (OST) on September 20 and 21, with September 22 and 23 set aside as backup dates. To guarantee uniform teaching standards throughout all Army Public Schools, the test will be given by an organization chosen by Headquarters AWES. Every applicant who takes the OST will receive a scorecard that is good for life. Candidates who have passed the OST will be given preference because their scores are taken into consideration during the interview stage, even though passing the OST is not required to appear for the interview and evaluation of teaching skills and computer proficiency. If a candidate is chosen for a teaching position without having passed the OST, they must pass the test within two years of being hired, earning at least 50% of the possible points (100 marks). Apart from new applicants, the OST is also available to current scorecard holders who want to raise their scores and to candidates applying for a different teaching category, such as a candidate with a TGT scorecard who has earned the credentials to apply for a PGT position, or vice versa.
AWES Army Public Selection Process – Interview
Through a variety of platforms, including notice boards, the school's official website, and local newspapers, each Army Public School independently posts openings for teachers. In response to these particular announcements or advertisements, interested candidates must submit an application directly to the schools where they want to work. Shortlisted candidates may or may not be interviewed at the school; the local management chooses the location, which may be in a group of schools or a nearby area.
Depending on the number of openings and the location of the school, shortlisted applicants are contacted for interviews after their applications have been reviewed. Evaluations of computer proficiency and teaching abilities are also part of the selection process. In addition to the evaluation of teaching abilities, language instructors are given a written test that consists of essay writing and comprehension (15 marks each). All candidates will be given the opportunity to take a computer proficiency test, if one is offered.

AWES Army Public Selection Process – Important Points
Candidates must note the following important points related to the AWES Army Public School selection process.
- Obtaining a score card will not ensure that candidates have been selected for the announced posts. It only means that candidates will be entitled for Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the recruitment.
- Appointments will be made based on AWES/CBSE rules.
- The committee conducting the Interview may carry out an additional Screening of candidature if the number of candidates is relatively large.
- CTET/TET is not necessary for appearing in the Online Screening Test.
- Candidates must note that CTET/TET conducted by the State or Central government is mandatory for the appointment of TGT and PRT. Those who do not qualify the CTET/TET may be considered for appointment if found eligible in all other aspects of the recruitment and shall be considered ad hoc in nature till they attain the qualification.
