A clash broke out in Madhya Pradesh’s Mhow when a rally was organised to celebrate India’s final victory in ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The local people said a stone-pelting incident took place during the celebrations. Mhow is located 25 kilometres from the district headquarters of Indore.
The locals said that the untoward incident created panic in other areas of the town. As per reports, a group of cricket lovers had organised a rally to celebrate the victory after the Indian team won the title by four wickets against New Zealand.
When the group of cricket enthusiasts reached the Jama Masjid area, a few men allegedly started hurling stones at them. The locals said it coerced them to abandon their motorcycles and leave the place.
Indore district collector said heavy police personnel have been deployed and the situation is under control.
Indore Rural SP Hitika Vasal said, “Tension occurred between the two sides here, and some incidents of violence have taken place. The incident took place after the victory of team India. The incident occurred over firecrackers. The situation is completely under control now. I would like to tell everyone that I do not believe in any type of fake news… Adequate force is here; we are patrolling the area. The incident will be investigated, and all the necessary action will be taken in this regard; accordingly, the people involved will be punished. Now there is news of three people getting injured here…Further investigation is underway.”
