PlayStation 5 has over time gained a quintessential name in the gaming sphere, it has been the go to choice for gamers who seek an ultimate gaming machine. Ever since its reveal in 2020 Sony has been able to sell close to 75 million units. Along its journey new editions such as the PS-5 slim as well as the PS 5 Pro have further aided gamers to gain a more streamlined and enhanced experience.
But with the possible launch of an all new Play Station 6 would the PS 5 soon be replaced?
While the fans have been concerned whether the PS5 would still be available after the launch of the all new PS6 or not, CEO of the Platform Business Group Sony Interactive Entertainment Hideaki Nishino took it in his own hands to resolve the ongoing anticipation. In his own manner he assured that the PS5 would be around for a long time just like that of the PS4. But he further assured that the continued availability of PS5 would not impend on the launch timeline of new products. He said so in an interview with Famitsu.
He further reported that Sony’s hardware technology goes hand in hand with the pace of technological advancement. He further said that the timing and introduction of new hardware relates to the timeline of technological evolution.
“Therefore, I think it is important to provide new things while playing the ones that are currently in operation, and to expand in total. For example, PS4 has been automated since the middle of production, and the quality of the hardware is high. That’s why you can use it for a long time.
“Of course, PS5 has been automated from the beginning. From now on, we want to spread it by combining things that can be used for a long time and bring new technology with new technology,”
