Chennai Super Kings, who came in at the last spot in the IPL 2025, seem to be making desperate attempts for a better performance in the next IPL season. According to reports, Sanju Samson might join the CSK clan for the next IPL season. The former Rajasthan Royals captain will be seen wearing the Yellow jersey and playing under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad. But inducting Samson would result in relieving certain players from CSK. This desperate attempt by CSK might turn into a catastrophic decision. Social media has been abuzz with speculations and rumours that Samson will be part of the Chennai-based franchise next year. Here are certain reasons that might cause CSK to lose the trophy next season as well.

Sanju’s Induction Might Disturb The CSK Top Order
The 5-time IPL winners have a somewhat decent squad right now. Though they were not able to make it to the playoffs this season, they have a pretty balanced squad. The primary opening pair of Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway has an excellent record in T20 cricket, and Sanju Samson, who usually comes as an opener or number 3, will be replacing a potential player. The solid top order is anchored by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad himself.
No Place In Middle Order
CSK has attacking players like Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel who take the initiative to keep the scoreboard running. In the middle order, the Proteas Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube have proved themselves more reliable than the regular ‘Season Samson’. Therefore, inducting Samson into CSK might be a reason to cost them the title next year as well, as Samson’s form this season has been concerning for the RR management as well.
Samson’s IPL Journey
The keeper-batter began his IPL career with the Royals in 2013 and stayed with the franchise until 2015 before moving to the Delhi Capitals (formerly Delhi Daredevils), where he spent a couple of seasons. The Kerala-born cricketer returned to the Royals in 2018 and ascended to the captaincy position in 2021. With the Royals failing to reach the playoffs in IPL 2025 and Samson missing plenty of games due to injury-related issues, reports have been floating that he could be released by the franchise.
