Former India captain Sourav Ganguly received ICC confirmation to stay at the head of its Men’s Cricket Committee. Sourav Ganguly accepted the ICC Men’s Cricket Committee leadership position following Anil Kumble in 2021 and continues directing a team of six members dedicated to enhancing cricket globally. VVS Laxman received a promotion as ICC appointed him again to the panel with Ganguly and South African cricket team captain Temba Bavuma serves as one of six committee members. The committee consists of Hamid Hassan as well as Desmond Haynes alongside Jonathan Trott.

Ganguly managed the coaching leadership at the Delhi Capitals Women’s team through his role as Director of Cricket until the team reached the 2025 Women’s Premier League championship game. The Men’s Cricket Committee functions as the main advisory body for the ICC Board to give recommendations on playing conditions rules and long-term strategies for developing cricket sports. The committee oversees technological implementations of the Decision Review System and works to solve illegal bowling actions among other matters.
The ICC chief executives committee recommended the appointments under the leadership of BCCI secretary and ICC chairman Jay Shah. The ICC introduced a support program for displaced Afghan women cricketers at the time of their announcement. The committee possesses the ideal blend of administrator expertise and player knowledge which makes it well-placed to direct cricket into the future.
