Nirjala Ekadashi 2025: Hinduism is one of the great religions of the world. Ekadashi, according to the Hindu/Vaishnav calendar, is observed as one of the most beautiful and sacred days dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On this sacred day, devotees observe an absolute fast and offer prayers and other rituals to seek the divine blessings of Lord Vishnu. Every year, we observe 24 Ekadashis, which means, we observe two Ekadashis every month, one during the Shukla Paksha and the other during the Krishna Paksha.
The Significance Of Nirjala Ekadashi:
This nirjala ekadashi is also termed as ‘Bhim ekadashi’/ ‘Pandav Nirjala Ekadashi’. On this Jyeshtha Shukla Ekadashi, people completely abstain themselves from consuming food and water. This year, 2025, Nirjala Ekadashi will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7 (as per the Vaishnav Calender). On this auspecious day Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are worshiped. One who observes fasting on Ekadashi is said to be free from making wrong decisions or actions and moves towards a religious life.
It is believed that by fasting on this Ekadashi, the fruits of all the 24 Ekadashis of the year are obtained, which brings salvation, happiness, and prosperity. It is also believed that on this day, charity has special significance, and donating to the poor brings special results. This also leads to the end of money-related problems.
The Auspicious Time Of Worship:
According to the Panchang, Ekadashi date will start late on 6 June 2025 at 2:15 pm and end on 7 June 2025 at 4:47 am. This fast will be celebrated mainly on June 6 on the basis of Udayatithi, although the Vaishnav community can also celebrate it on 7 June.
