The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Monday announced that it is going to launch a new plot scheme under the affordable housing scheme, which aims to give the economically weaker sections an opportunity to build a house. The scheme will be launched after getting the approval of the YEIDA board on June 18. According to officials, under the scheme, at least 3,000 plots of 30 square meters size will be made available in Sector 18 and 20 located in Jewar area, near Noida International Airport.
YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh stated that this scheme is mainly for factory workers and people whose annual income is up to Rs 3 lakh. He said that this area is becoming a hub of industrial and other projects, due to which employment is increasing here and also the need for housing for workers. Keeping this in mind, the scheme has been prepared.
He further said that keeping in mind the needs of the economically weaker people, only 30 square meter plots will be given. Their price has been fixed at Rs 7.5 lakh, which applicants will be able to pay in installments over a maximum of seven years.
Officials said that out of the total plots, 29% will be reserved for employees who are working in projects operating in the YEIDA area, 5% for retired soldiers and 5% for employees of the authority.
YEIDA also said that a total of more than 8,000 plots will be released so that more and more people from the EWS category get an opportunity to build their own house around Noida Airport. This scheme has been specially designed keeping in mind the people associated with the service sector like factory workers, security guards and domestic helpers, who play an important role in the development of any city.
