Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder: DGP Suspects Deeper Motive Beyond Love Triangle, Says ‘Difficult To Believe’

There's more to Raja Raghuvanshi's murder than just being a love triangle. DGP Idashisha Nongrang said that the motive that was being given by the accused doesn't sit very well with the murder angle.

As part of the investigation into the Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder case, the Police on Tuesday took all the accused to Sohra, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, and recreated the crime scene. However, there’s more to Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder than just being a love triangle. According to DGP Idashisha Nongrang, the motive that was being given by the accused doesn’t sit very well with the murder angle.

The DGP said, “We are looking if there’s additional info. I find it very difficult to believe a person would generate so much animosity within a couple of days after marriage and plot to kill the person. On the surface of it appears to be a love triangle, but at the moment, we cannot say that will be the only motive. It is still a developing investigation.”

She added, “I would like to place on record that Sohra Police Station, under which this crime has taken place, has the lowest crime rate of all the police stations in the state. The Sohra police station has no records of any murder taking place in decades.”
