An official statement said that Navi Mumbai Airport is going to become the country’s major international air traffic hub. With state-of-the-art facilities, world-class passenger experience, and better connectivity, this airport will strengthen India’s global aviation network.
This project is being developed in several phases. In the initial phase, NMIA will be able to handle 20 million passengers and 0.5 million metric tons (MMT) of cargo every year. When the project is completed, its capacity will reach 90 million passengers and 3.2 MMT cargo.
Modern Runway And technology
A 3,700-meter-long runway is being constructed at the airport, which will be fully capable of landing and takeoff of large aircraft. The latest technology and safety standards are being taken care of in the runway construction.
Project Operation: Role Of Adani Group
The project is being developed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited. Established in 2019, this company is playing an important role in the operation of many major airports in the country.
Once the airport is operational, there will be a major increase in the aviation capacity of the Mumbai region, which will give better services to the passengers and new momentum to the industry.
