“Do you want party to go with change or are you satisfied with everything? If you think everything is fine, don’t vote for me as I want such a change in the party that would bring back voters who didn’t remain with us in 2014 and 2019,” said Shashi Tharoor, one of the two candidates for Congress’ chief polls.

Besides Tharoor, there is party’s senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge who is contesting elections for the post of Congress chief.

While addressing media today, the Congress MP said, “We are contesting elections, there is no spirit of enmity in our party. Kharge Sahab is my senior leader and I have worked closely with him. The election is about two colleagues seeing how to work to strengthen the party.”

Earlier this month, Tharoor had iterated that Mallikarjun Kharge will not be able to bring change in the system, instead he will continue with the existing one.

“We are not enemies, it is not a war. It’s a poll for our party’s future. Kharge Ji comes in top 3 leaders of Congress party. Leaders like him cannot bring change and will continue the existing system. I’ll bring change as per expectations of party workers,” said Tharoor.
