A woman was killed in her rented accommodation in Karnataka’s Bengaluru. The incident took place in the Cottonpet area of the city. At the time of the incident, the woman was alone at home. The attackers also robbed her home and took away gold and cash worth Rs 20 lakh which she had kept for her daughter’s marriage.
Police suspect insider role in robbery
According to NDTV, the preliminary investigation suggests that police suspect someone known in the family may be behind the incident. The 40-year-old victim, Latha, may have been strangled by the robbers before looting the cash and jewellery.
Victim was alone at home during incident
According to the report, Latha’s husband Prakash is a wholesale cloth merchant, and he was at his shop while her daughter was at work and her son had gone to school.
Cash, jewellery saved for daughter’s wedding stolen
The couple had kept the money and jewellery for their daughter’s wedding. Prakash returned home for lunch but found that Lath and cash were missing.
The police have launched a probe and are examining the CCTV footage to connect the dots of the incident.
Man killed in beer bottle attack in Hyderabad
In a separate incident, a bar brawl turned deadly in Hyderabad’s Medchal-Malkajgiri district, leaving one person dead after being attacked with a beer bottle.
According to police, the incident occurred around 10:30 PM at Good Day Bar, located under the Uppal police station limits. A dispute broke out between groups at nearby tables, during which Sravan Kumar attacked Pawan Kumar.
The police said, “Yesterday night, around 10:30 PM, at Good Day Bar, a group of members were consuming drinks when a ruckus ensued with people at a nearby table. One man, Sravan Kumar, attacked the deceased, Pawan Kumar, on the head, and he died on the spot.
