Producer Prerna Arora still can’t believe that Sushant Singh Rajput is not with us. “I can feel his presence everywhere. Whenever I hear his songs, or when I watch his films, or when a talented newcomer speaks of his struggle—recently a kid spoke about how he lost a plum role to a star kid and it broke my heart—I think of dear Sushant.”
About his death still being a mystery, Prerna sighs, “We will never really know what happened to him, why did he have to die? But to blame his girlfriend for his death was horrendous. We are all responsible for our own lives.”
Prerna feels a deep sense of empathy with Sushant for one more reason. “He was a Shiv Bhakt just like me. His Kedarnath was a tribute to Shiva Bhagwan. My forthcoming Jatadhara is the same. There was so much more that Sushant had to give as an actor and as an important member of our society. To be snatched away so cruelly. It was my dream to cast Sushant as an avatar of Lord Shiva. Before I could cast him in this dream role, he joined the Gods above.”
