Diljit Dosanjh’s much anticipated film Sardaar Ji 3, co-starring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, is currently scheduled to release overseas only on June 27, 2025, amid rising political tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.
BN Tiwari, President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), has slammed actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh for collaborating with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in the upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. Tiwari has called for a complete ban on Dosanjh’s future projects.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Tiwari said the collaboration “hurts Indian sentiments” and “disrespects the sacrifices of our brave soldiers.” He strongly criticized Diljit’s decision to work with talent from Pakistan amidst ongoing political and military strain between the two countries.
Hindustan Times Quoted Tiwari “By working with a Pakistani actor, Diljit has hurt Indian sentiments. He has disrespected the sentiments of the nation and insulted the sacrifice of our brave soldiers. His preference for Pakistani talent over Indian artists raises serious questions about his loyalty and priorities.”
He further added, “By collaborating with a Pakistani actor, Diljit has hurt Indian sentiments, disrespected the nation, and insulted the sacrifices of our brave soldiers.”
Tiwari further revealed that Sardaar Ji 3, starring Diljit and Hania Aamir, is currently not scheduled for release in India but will be launched overseas. However, if attempts are made to release it domestically, FWICE will actively seek to block its release.
“We have heard that the film is not being released in India. But if they plan to release it, we will ban it. For now, they are releasing overseas only. That being said, Diljit working with a Pakistani actor is something we are not ready to overlook. We have called for a strict ban on all upcoming films, songs or any other sort of projects. We will also issue a formal letter on the same today. Along with Diljit, we have also called for a ban on the producers of the film regarding all their upcoming films.”
On Sunday, Diljit dropped the trailer on Instagram, while the trailer has been uploaded to YouTube, it appears to be geo-blocked in India, showing the message, “The uploader has not made this video available in your country.” Teasers and songs from the film are however accessible to Indian users.
The film also stars Manav Vij, Gulshan Grover, Jasmin Bajwa, Sapna Pabbi and others in prominent roles. It is directed by Amar Hundal.
