What if Ed Sheeran sets his eyes on Bollywood debut? Here’s the twist… It may include Shah Rukh Khan himself. The singer, who has won the hearts of the Indians already with his new tour, is now winning the hearts more after launching his new song Sapphire. The song is a soulful collaboration with Indian sensation Arijit Singh and even has a special appearance by no less than Shah Rukh Khan. However, something bigger could be going on off the stage.
Ed Sheeran Gives a Big Clue
On Tuesday, Ed Sheeran uploaded a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video to his YouTube channel of the filming of Sapphire. He also reveals in the video how he was able to persuade Shah Rukh Khan to feature in the song. Ed is also shown recording a few lines in Punjabi and speaking about singing in Hindi.
This video was later shared by a fan club on Instagram and they wrote, “Can’t wait for the full Punjabi version. Check out the behind-the-scenes on Ed’s YouTube Channel! Ed said the Hindi version in that video, so I’m not sure if the other version of the song will be Hindi or Punjabi now!”
Ed Sheeran himself responded to the post and corrected the misunderstanding. He wrote, “The Hindi song was for a Bollywood movie SRK is doing, this is the Punjabi version of Sapphire with Arijit. I’m just doing all languages at this point.”
Fans thought that this was true when Ed made remarks that the singer was crafting a Hindi song to be used in a Bollywood film which will star Shah Rukh Khan.
Is it the Song of ‘King’?
At the moment, the only film Shah Rukh Khan is in the process of filming is named ‘King’. ‘King’, directed by Siddharth Anand, is an exceptional movie as this is the first movie he has made with his daughter Suhana Khan. There are also other popular names such as Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Arshad Warsi will also be seen in this film.
As observed in Ed’s BTS video, some of his fans spotted him spending time with ‘King’ director Siddharth Anand in a recording studio. This caused people to believe that the Hindi song that Ed referred to is likely to be dedicated to ‘King’.
The title of the song and other details are not revealed officially so far. The movie, ‘King’ is still under production and the date of release is yet to be announced.
