Chennai residents belonging to certain areas will experience a power outage tomorrow. The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced that electricity supply will be suspended from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM to carry out essential repair and upgrade tasks. Though the schedule cut is for 5 hours, authorities said that the efforts are underway to complete the repairs as quickly as possible. Power supply is expected to resume before 2:00 PM, provided the work finishes on time. Residents are advised to plan accordingly.
Which All Areas Will Be Affected?
According to the Chennai Electricity Board, Kumananchavadi will face a scheduled five-hour power cut. Areas affected by the maintenance work include Ambal Nagar, Poonamallee Bypass Road, Parivakkam, Banaveedu Thottam, Pidarithangal, and Kolapanchery in Kumananchavadi.
At the same time, some of the areas saw a scheduled power cut on May 25. These areas include Ambattur Industrial Estate, Estate B Block, New Tiny Sector, Old Tiny Sector, 1st Main Road, ATC Road, 2nd Cross Street, 3rd Street Sector-II, 2nd Main Road part, CTH Road, Menambedu Road, Coacher Appartment, Coramendal Town, 7th and 8th Street, Sidco Industrial Estate North Phase, Cookson Road, 7th Street Sector 3, Aavin Road sum part, Sidco Industrial Estate North Phase.
Chennai Power Cut This month
This month, the city has faced massive power cuts. TANGEDCO had announced scheduled supply disruptions on May 2, 8, 9, 15, 17, and 19 to 23 in multiple areas for the maintenance works.
