Other data has revealed that a large number of two wheeler accidents involve incidents of skidding and head injuries caused by improper braking equipment

Since all of the 125 cc two wheelers priced around 1 lakh would have to be updated as per the new rule. Users would likely see a price increase owing to the additional hardware that is supposed to be installed. Beyond these, the entry level bikes that start around the 60K price point would be affected the worst. A certain segment of vehicles would require the addition of front disc and single channel ABS that would hike up the prices by roughly Rs 6000 to Rs 10,000.

The Ministry would soon roll out guidelines to ensure a smooth implementation of the regulations.
